would definitely look to Tanis if staying in the area again, the service was friendly and accommodation very good

We were surprised to find no hot water, and the smell of the trench on the walk up from the beech was a bit strong. Otherwise, what a great place to stay. Well done on the presentation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Outdoor bathroom/toillet with lots of mosquitos, the included breakfast is very small (and poor quality), staff tried to rent snorkeling equipement to us but it was included in the room price. They managed to screwup our pickup to the boot completely.

Tanis Villas is a good value and the rooms were very nice. There were some maintenance problems which could be easily corrected but are not. The hotel sits on a nice beach, the nicer of the 2 with about 4 other hotels. The big task of the day is deciding where to eat, we like the Mushroom Bay restraint, the only one not associated with a hotel. The staff at Tanis are very friendly. The only issue is that there is not printed information and getting details is very difficult. We wanted to go snorkeling, which they advertise, but it was so iffy that we found a different way. The island is beautiful - with clean beaches and pretty water. Bali is not! There are no cars and a few trucks on the island, mostly scooters and we walked for about 2 hours around and saw no one except cows - one which we fed everyday. Our only complaint about Tanis is that we had the furthest room on the right and this is close to a cow that was chained on a very small chain and standing in it own waste for days. It was covered in flies and we could smell it in the room and the files also came in. This was upsetting and when we asked about it, as it disturbed us the state of the cow - they said they had nothing to do with it. Only problem was we saw one of the employees taking care of it. If you are an animal lover, you will hate that. Overall the value is great, the room nice, oh they don't have a totally closed roof. There is a small gap where bugs come in, which I couldn't figure out why they didn't screen it. Luckily the biggest gecko I had ever seen, like a foot long, (no kidding) came in the room every night. It hid being the frig and made such a loud chirp the morning we discovered it, we jumped. That was a cool. The hotel is well priced and if you are realistic you will be happy - hopefully they will have addressed the cow problem.

The rooms were quite good, but the bathroom, could be more cleaner. The shower had green dirt on the floor, which was not very nice to see. The sinktap were leak, so you got wet feet sometimes, when you washed your hands. There were no deposite box to put passports and money at all.
